Three antiques dealers will be panelists at a Roundtable of Antiques and Collectibles on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Geneva History Museum, 543 S. Main Street, Geneva. The meeting is sponsored by the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes and is free and open to the public.

The antiques dealers include Christina Champion, Susan Sauvageau and Peter Jablonski. The purpose of the Roundtable is to allow attendees to bring antique or vintage items they would like to learn more about or simply discuss. Suggestions include paintings, prints, bottles, china, glassware, decorative accessories, primitives, textiles and small furniture. The panelists, along with Antiques Club members, will comment on antiques and collectibles brought to the meeting.  (Bringing an item is not required to attend.)

The Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes is in its 49th year of programming. Meetings are free and open to the public, but membership is welcome and encouraged at $10 per year. Programs include meetings at the Geneva History Museum, field trips and social events.

About the panelists:

Christina Champion is the owner of Christina’s Antiques, Red Creek, NY.  In addition to running her antiques shop since 1979, Christina has participated in numerous antiques shows in the Northeast and South. She specializes in 18th, 19th and early 20th-century furniture, art & accessories, folk art, advertising, stoneware, textiles, vintage clothing, sterling, decoys, bottles, fine china and glass. Christina is a Certified Antiques Appraiser with the Asheford Institute of Antiques (A.I.A.).

Susan Sauvageau came to the Finger Lakes to teach art and humanities at Eisenhower College in 1973. She grew up in a house full of antiques, so when the college closed, she started an antiques shop in Seneca Falls. Her inventory includes a variety of early American household antiques, some furniture and vintage art. For over 25 years Susan has also served as the Seneca County Director of Weights & Measures. She belongs to many antiques groups, has been very active in county and town organizations and politics, and has served on many boards and as an elected official.

Peter Jablonski of Peter J’s Antiques and Collectibles, Buffalo, has been buying, selling and appraising antiques and collectibles for over 20 years as well as selling nationally and internationally on eBay. He has also appeared on cable television presenting live appraisals. Peter serves as president of the Greater Buffalo Bottle Collectors Association. He was the Antiques Club speaker last October on the intriguing subject, “Time Capsule in Your Backyard.”
