Button History Program Slated for Feb. 24
A program on the history of buttons will be presented by Pat Silvernail on Saturday, February 24 at 2:00 PM at the Geneva History Museum, 543 South Main Street. The program, sponsored by the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes, is free and open to the public. The museum is handicapped accessible.
Silvernail is the president of the Elmira Button Club and a member of several other local, state, national and international button societies. Her talk will cover “Who, What, Why, Where and When” in button history and will include numerous display cards of buttons made of various materials, ages and styles. She will also bring books, crafts and other button related materials.
Have a button you would like to know more about? Bring it along. This will be a hands-on, informative and fun program.
