The historic cobblestone home is rumored to have been of the Underground Railroad where slaves boarded a schooner from this small embayment to Canada. This peaceful setting boasts a 1/4 mile of prime private shoreline fishing on Maxwell Creek – also perfect for canoeing and kayaking. Hiking trails in the park adjacent to the property are perfect for year-round activities such as cross country skiing, snow shoeing and bird watching. Cobblestone Architecture A unique cobblestone house built in 1846 by William Swales for his daughter Elizabeth as a wedding gift. An original cobblestone carriage house is used as a guest cottage for extended stays, groups and families sets adjacent to the main house. Guests enjoy brilliant sunsets and vibrant star-lit nights.
