Lazy Acres is set on two hundred acres in the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes. Dating back to the 1800’s, the farm consists of four large barns, a birthing and treatment center and a gift shop. Our farm is home to almost 100 alpacas. Alpacas are a gentle and curious animal. A family run business from the start, we raise our alpacas for breeding, to show and for their fleece which is ultra-warm. We offer tours of the farm and alpacas year round. Some of the favorite stops on the tour are the maternity ward, the treatment center and of course the pasture full of alpacas! Call (585)455-1203 to set up your tour to meet all our alpacas!
Alpaca Country Gift Shop is located in one of our barns. It is stocked full of unique, high quality alpaca clothing, souvenirs, bears and more. Alpaca is the most wearable, comfortable, light weight and breathable fiber and therefore makes the best clothing. We sell alpaca roving and yarn made from the fiber of animals raised on our farm and roving.
We shear our alpacas once a year in the spring to protect them from the coming hot weather. Their fiber is five times warmer than sheep wool fiber and more luxurious than cashmere. The alpaca fleece is prized for its fineness, lightness in weight, luster, and hypo-allergenic properties.
Our herd consists of a multitude of colors, however, alpacas come in 22 different colors. Our animals are raised with constant handling and interaction with children, developing a gentle disposition in our herd. They are a very curious animal and always love to see new faces.
