Corn Maze Opens This Weekend

09/16/2021

It’s that time of year again. Fall Festival Weekends are back at Long Acre Farms starting this weekend, September 18. Open every weekend through the end of October, there’s plenty of time to spend fall on the farm.

The theme for the 2021 Amazing Maize Maze is apples! Wayne County produces 41 percent of New York State’s apples so it was only fitting to pay homage to this wonderful area. The 5-acre corn field will depict a large tree with an apple in the middle and a basket of apples on the ground. As guests navigate the paths they will learn some facts about apples in NYS and around the world. The mazers are encouraged to collect pieces of the maze map puzzle located in mailboxes throughout the maze.  These pieces can be taped onto their gameboard, and if all twelve mailboxes are found, the pieces will build a picture of the whole maze that the guest can then use to navigate their way out.  The average time in the maze can vary from 30 minutes to over 2 hours depending on the luck and the skill of the maze teams.  “The corn is especially tall this year,” states owner Doug Allen.  “You never know how the corn is going to grow year over year, and the taller it is the more complexity it can add to the maze. It’s easy to get turned around in there, which makes hunting for the mailboxes even more enjoyable.”

Weekend Barnbuster Admission tickets are $15 pp ages 3+ and include the Amazing Maize Maze, Animal Tracks Maze, Back 40 play area, and unlimited Cow Train & Wagon Rides! Open from 10am-6pm (last entrance to the maze at 4pm).

Tackle the maze in the dark for an extra challenge during one of the Moonlight Mazes. Running every Friday from September 24th-October 29th. Moonlight Maze admission is $18 pp ages 18+ and $15 pp ages 5-17. Groups with children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult in the maze at all times.
