Showcasing Eight Printmakers from Upstate New York
Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs will host a survey of contemporary printmaking for its last show of the summer season with an opening reception on Saturday, August 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. The Upstate New York Printmaking Invitational features eight printmakers from Canandaigua, Rochester, Ithaca, and Buffalo. Through their individual printmaking techniques and styles each artist offers their own take on contemporary printmaking.
Artists featured: Carol Acquilano, Paolo Marino, Barbara McPhail, Ron Netsky, Gregory Page, Minna Resnick, Kathleen Sherin, and Heather Swenson.
Artwork included in this exhibition consists of a variety of printmaking techniques including: screenprinting, linocut, woodcut, etching, lithography, collagraphs, carborundum prints, monotypes and multilayered unique mixed media prints. The variety of printmaking techniques represented in this exhibition is a reflection of the world of printmaking in general. Each of the eight artists offers their own perspective on their chosen printmaking techniques, which contributes to the dynamic nature of this exhibition.
The gallery is open to the public and as always, entry is free. Wine and snacks will be served at the opening reception on August 27.
