Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day 2024 with Sulfur Books

Sulfur Books is happy to announce their participation in Indie Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 27.

The store will be open for extended hours on this day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be several different giveaways and specials going on to help celebrate and express their gratitude to their loyal customers for continuing to support their bookstore. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tony Zanni from Type High Letterpress will be doing a letterpress demo where you'll be able to get hands on pulling a print from the press! Complimentary lattes and espressos will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All day deals include $5 "Blind Date with a Book" titles. Blind Date with a Book has become a much beloved concept that bookstores all over are participating in, where books are hand-picked by booksellers and wrapped up to conceal their titles. The only thing you can read about the selected books are a few hints regarding their themes and genres to pique your interests. It's a great way to discover new books and authors that you may not have heard of, or to go home with a book that you may not have picked up otherwise. And who doesn't love unwrapping a surprise for a great deal? Sulphur Books will be giving away free letterpress printed bookmarks with every purchase, and while supplies last, they will be offering complimentary book cookies and Sulfur Books tote bags with purchases of $40 or more.

"At Sulfur Books, Independent Bookstore Day is not just about celebrating independent bookstores nationwide. It's also a day to thank all of the people who support us and help make our bookstore a community." —Sarah Butler, bookstore manager

Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the Independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 900 stores participating across the country. Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
