Bristol Valley Theater (BVT) presents world-premiere comedy Montgomery for the BVT New Works Initiative
Bristol Valley Theater, the Finger Lakes’ award-winning live professional theater, will continue its 2018 Summer Season with the world-premiere of Montgomery.
Written by Stephen Brown, Montgomery tells the story of Megan and Kimmy; two 14-year-old girls who hatch an ill-conceived plot to kidnap country music star, Rick Montgomery. A couple of bumbling desk cops land the case and see it as the opportunity to alter their careers. In this laugh-out-loud, offbeat comedy, songs will be sung, someone will be shot, and the girls will discover the actual difficulty in exacting revenge.
“For the past several years BVT and the New Works Initiative has committed to bringing new plays to the stage, both with several staged readings and one fully-produced new work every year,” says director and BVT Executive Artistic Director Karin Bowersock. “We knew as soon as we read the first scene of Montgomery that we simply had to bring Stephen’s words to life here in Naples. The laughs, the songs, the heart; it’s got it all!”
The cast features Kalia Lay as Megan, Claire Noonen as Kimmy, Rick Apicella as Larry, Neil Brown as Chet, Shannon Haddock as Patty, and EJ Cantu as Rick Montgomery.
Performances run from August 9-19 at the theater at 151 S. Main Street in Naples. Performance times are August 9-11 at 8 p.m., August 12 at 2 p.m., August 15-16 at 2 p.m., August 16-18 at 8 p.m. and August 19 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $34 for adults, $32 for seniors, and $26 for groups of 15 or more.
