BIKES, BEER & BUILDINGS IS BACK ON AUGUST 14

08/04/2022

It’s back! Grab your bikes, your smart phone, a few friends and join the Young Urban Preservationists (or YUPs—a group of The Landmark Society) for Rochester’s unique bike scavenger hunt, followed by a few well-deserved drinks at Swiftwater Brewing Co. You’ll see some of Rochester’s best-known gems and little-known secrets, you’ll get some exercise, and you might even learn something new about the Flower City.

On Sunday August 14 at 1 p.m. bikers can check in at Swiftwater Brewing Co., 378 Mt. Hope Ave. to receive a list of clues before they set off on the hunt at 1:30 p.m. and return by 3:30 p.m.

“For a nominal fee of $15 per person, teams of 1-6 cyclists will see some of Rochester’s most interesting buildings – best known gems and little-known secrets, get some exercise and learn something new about the Flower City,” said Caitlin Meives, Landmark Society Director of Preservation.

Teams will need one smart phone, equipped with Instagram. All participants will receive a free drink ticket with registration.  Brought to you by The Lost Borough Apparel Company.

The Young Urban Preservationists are an emerging generation of preservationists in the greater Rochester region dedicated to promoting inclusive, modern, and innovative preservation practices to help revitalize communities and our built environment. All—young and young at heart—are welcome and encouraged to attend!  Register online at https://www.youngurbanpres.org/
