Bank of the Finger Lakes recently made a $2,500 Annual Fund donation to the Smith Center for the Arts, the not-for-profit organization that runs the historic Smith Opera House. The funds will be allocated to The Smiths operating fund to help cover expenses tied to maintaining the 123-year-old building and supporting arts and educational programming.
Generations of Genevans have cared for this cultural anchor and maintained it as a community gathering space. With this generous contribution, Bank of the Finger Lakes has stepped up to do its part to ensure that this building and its dynamic programming are available for generations to come, said The Smiths Executive Director Susie Monagan.
Were pleased to support the Smith Center for the Arts. They bring many great programs and films to our community. The Smith Opera House is a tremendous facility, plus its a tribute to the gentlemen who originally saved the building and those key supporters who have dedicated the last 30-plus years to restoring this very important part of downtown Geneva, said Bank President and CEO Mike Briggs.
