Corning Community Band to Perform on June 13

The Corning Community Band will perform a free indoor concert at the National Soaring Museum beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday evening, June 13.

This season’s selections include Bugler’s Holiday, My Fair Lady, Foshay Tower March, Mad Dash, Under the Big Top, Jersey Boys, Disney Spectacular, Lion King, Pochahontas, Aladdin, The Greatest Showman, Westerner March, Muppets Greatest Hits, Clarinet Candy, Le Secret, Music of the Beatles, Anvil Polka, Armed Forces Salute, and Stars and Stripes Forever!

The Corning Area Community Concert Band is a group of area musicians of all ages, including, students, adults, professionals, and amateurs. Formed in 1975 for the USA Bicentennial and conducted by John Stranges, the band plays concerts throughout the community, at festivals, schools, churches, nursing facilities as well as marching in many of the local area parades.

The National Soaring Museum, located on Harris Hill at 51 Soaring Hill Drive, Elmira, is home to one of the largest collections of gliders and sailplanes in the world, the United States Soaring Hall of Fame, and an impressive collection of soaring artifacts and memorabilia.
