There are 5ks and 10ks, and then there is the Twisted Branch Trail Run 100k. The race begins August 29 in South Bristol, and winds its way along the Finger Lakes Trail to the finish line in Hammondsport. Runners will have only 16 hours to complete the course.
The idea for the event was conceived by Race Director Scott Magee, whose own personal adventures along the Bristol Hills Branch trail include running it in its entirety, twice. He knew the ultra-running community needed to experience this amazing trail. Boasting an elevation of more than 10,000 feet and very technical trails, the Twisted Branch offers what ultra-runners are looking for – a true adventure that tests the limits of their abilities.
There are many ways to get involved. Volunteer opportunities are available, or you can come out and just cheer on the amazing athletes. Visit lifeinthefingerlakes.com or twistedbranchtrail.com for a trail map and more information.
