A New Beginning for the Lehigh Valley Railroad Manchester Roundhouse

After sitting abandoned for almost thirty years, the Lehigh Valley Railroad Manchester Roundhouse and built in 1916 is being positioned to undergo a transformation and new beginning. The findings of a report prepared for Ontario County on the condition of the roundhouse and its potential for redevelopment will be presented on Thursday, October 21 from 6:30 to 8 pm.  John G. Waite Architects Associates is the project consultant. You can attend in person or online via WebEx.

This historically significant resource is located in the Village of Manchester.  Learn about roundhouse’s unique construction and its current structural condition. Find out what emergency work is necessary to secure the site and stabilize the structure.  Discover realistic options for redevelopment and how they could this be phased in.  And finally, what are the next steps to move this project forward.

Ontario County received financial assistance from the Town and Village of Manchester, Ontario County Local Development Corporation, NYS Empire State Development & Rochester Area Community Foundation to conduct this project.
