This spring, Life in the Finger Lakes magazine is involved in a series of exciting “firsts.”
As you may have read in previous issues, we’re sponsoring the first ever Finger Lakes Show, being held May 2 through 4 at the Fair and Expo Center in Henrietta. It will feature over 150 exhibits, thousands of products and services, and interactive displays for consumers who love the outdoors and our lakes. We think that this show will be an extension of the quality advertisements and articles that we bring you in each issue of our magazine.
We are very excited to be the first to announce a proposed museum for the Finger Lakes, The Finger Lakes Cultural and Natural History Museum. John Adamski, a passionate outdoorsman who writes regularly for our magazine, first approached me with this idea last fall. He recognized that our publication and the proposed museum have the same goal – to represent the integrity and richness of this area. Like The Wild Center in Tupper Lake and the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, John’s proposal will focus on natural history and culture. Just visit ExploretheFingerLakes.com and plug in some simple information to design a trip that combines area destinations with your interests. The itinerary that you create, complete with a map to each destination, can be saved for future reference and accessed using your e-mail address and a password known only to you.
ExploretheFingerLakes.com can be used as a supplement of Life in the Finger Lakes magazine and its website. We’re sure it will become an essential tool for anyone who wants to experience this region.

The "first thing" that I want to do is thank you and the magazine for the faith you have placed in the museum project proposal. I am proud to have you as partners. I have already received a number of calls and emails supporting the idea along with some offers to get involved.
The "first thing" a new organization like this needs are offers to get involved. I hope to hear from other potential partners including members of the business, education, industrial, residential and winery communities, all of which would all have a stake in creating a successful tourism draw such as this.
