Fairport Historical Museum
Meet author Patrick J. Bastow as he discusses and signs copies of his book “My Heroes and Their Stories of Survival” on December 10, from 2:30PM—3:30PM at the Fairport Museum, 18 Perrin St. in the Village of Fairport.
During the course of Dr Bastow’s career as a dentist at the Canandaigua VA caring for America’s Veterans, many of his patients over time felt comfortable sharing their unique stories, memories from WWII. Some of those patients even suggested something should be done to record and preserve this history for future generations. This labor of love, My Heroes and Their Stories of Survival, was an attempt to capture both the facts and feelings of the men and women who so bravely fought to guarantee our freedom. This book was completed in recognition of their sacrifices during WWII.
Patrick J. Bastow is a retired dentist who worked for thirty-eight years caring for American veterans while employed by the Veterans Administration. He is the father to a son and daughter and grandfather of three wonderful grandchildren. He currently resides in upstate New York with his wife Deborah and continues to enjoy many hobbies including skiing, golfing, fishing and biking.
Copies of “My Heroes and Their Stories of Survival” will be available for purchase at the event for $15.00; cash and checks are accepted.
